I was lucky enough to get the author to agree to an interview. This is what she had to say:

Could you please tell us a little about your book?

Definitely. The book is entitled, Is Your Ghost Holy? Eight Principles for Evaluating Your Walk in the Spirit. It’s a reflective writing designed to assist the reader in an effective analysis of their walk in the Spirit. The book is written in simplistic style intentionally so that the message is not lost in delivery. Throughout the book, readers will journey through chapters of love, truth and life to discover the essence of the Holy One’s purpose in their life. About five years ago, the Lord delivered a Word through me entitled, “Is Your Ghost Holy?” That message stayed with me and was so alive that I began to journal because I was seeking answers of my own as to my purpose and God’s plan for my life. Overtime, the writings grew and the Lord continued to use me. Within the past year, I received instruction from on High to publish what was once simple writings and journals and to use a Christian publishing company for this first book. In obedience, Is Your Ghost Holy? is now available to all.

Who or what is the inspiration behind this book?

Inspiration comes from anywhere and everywhere. I can’t just pinpoint one place because anything can be a source of inspiration for me. For my latest book, inspiration came from the subject of a talk a few years ago that stayed with me for years. For the two books I am currently in the middle of, inspiration came from a passion of mine and from a desire to tell my story.

Who is your biggest critic?

I am my biggest critic. I have always been critical of myself. Initially it started as a way to make myself try harder or always look for ways to improve myself or my performance. Of late, the criticism has become a bit of a flaw to a fault.

What cause are you most passionate about and why?

I am most passionate about the education of our youth. As a former high school teacher, I know the importance of education and I am aware of the educational gap that still exists among our African-American students’ verses their white counterparts. On the same note, I am well aware of how home values contribute to student success in the classroom and strive to encourage parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles to get involved by promoting and encouraging good grades and daily attendance by our children.

What is the most important thing in your life right now?

Right now the most important people in my life are Christ, my husband and my children. Without relationships with Christ and our loved ones, nothing we do is substantial or worthy of mentioning.

Do you have any advice for writers or readers?

Do not be afraid to self-publish your own work, especially if God has given you the green light to do so. Research the field and take your time. Publishing your first book is just like making a first impression, you only get one chance, make it a good one.

What is the most important lesson you have learned from life so far?

The most important lesson I have learned in life so far is that I am not in control of anything. I used to make all of these life plans and set goals while growing up, but now I realize God is in control of all things and I’m just an instrument He uses to win others to Christ and in doing so, He promises to give me the desires of my heart.

Is there anything you regret doing/not doing?

I regret not trusting or believing in myself enough to publish sooner. I have been writing since I was a little girl, mostly for myself about issues I was facing in life at the time, as therapy or just simply for the enjoyment writing brings.

Is there anything else you would like to share with us?

Yes, I would like for everyone to know that they can visit me at my personal website at and order my book, Is Your Ghost Holy? from,, or where fine books are sold.
