Dr. Janine Talty, today a successful osteopathic physician, as a child found herself bewildered by a world full of challenges that she could not understand. She felt isolated, unable to cope with the regular life issues that other children managed easily. She could not comprehend math or spelling—yet she could see energies that others could not see, and had levels of awareness than no-one around her possessed. She exhibited unusual artistic and healing talent. She spontaneously remembered and drew pictures from “old memories” of places her family had never visited. Only as she grew into adulthood, painfully learning to cope with her challenges, did she realize she was an "indigo," one of a generation of people with unusual talents and abilities, yet who rarely fit neatly into societal roles.

This book is the inspiring story of how she overcomes these challenges, finds her voice and identity, and discovers a channel for her healing abilities as an osteopathic physician. She speaks directly to the experience of fellow indigos, and shows them that some of their biggest challenges can be their most powerful gifts. She reveals that much of our personal physical suffering is actually clearing the way for human transformation, and that there is meaning and purpose to the events in our lives—even when we can't see this. Indigo Awakening is one of the first books to be written by an adult indigo, telling the experience of indigos from the inside out, and showing how their puzzling and painful experiences are paving the way for the emergence of a new way of being, in harmony with self, other, the world and the universe.

I was lucky enough to get the author to agree to an interview. This is what she had to say:

Could you please tell us a little about your book?

This is an inspirational true story that will touch the heart of any reader – Indigo or not. It speaks to the place in all of us where the desire to be understood burns eternal. A new spin on the old theme, but this time, this “new being” has never been seen before. This is the first book written that takes the reader inside the experience of an Indigo growing up and living in a world that does not yet recognize the new consciousness. This evolution of our species has been foretold by hundreds of ancient shamanistic cultures prophesy scheduled to arrive in the few years just before the galactic alignment of 2012 where time as we know it will change forever. These beings are here altruistically to help transmute the remnants of the past 26,000 years of man-kind’s miss-giving’s and miss-adventures and help recreate a new way of being here on this planet. This story will demonstrate what it feels like to communicate telepathically, rely on remote viewing, experience psychic phenomenon and naturally tap into the knowledge held in the Akashic Record.

This book is a full-fledged expose` intended to act as a reflective mirror for the yet un-awakened adult Indigo person who has suppressed their extraordinary gifts and traits always feeling “different” and trying to fit in. It is a call for all Indigo warriors who are fighting their most personal battles of connecting to and accomplishing their “mission” here on earth.

Did something specific happen to prompt you to write this book?

Throughout my life I had many unanswered questions that inspired me to search far and wide in order to understand why I saw the world and how I fit into it so differently than those around me. As I advanced toward accomplishing the tasks that were set out for me in my initiation process I realized that I was being groomed for major work that combined all my past life remembrances’ with what I was doing today. Soon the two worlds coalesced into drawing in experiences that my scientific mind could no longer explain away. One synchronicity after another in lightning fast sequences brought me to Britain where I discovered what my body, mind and spirit had been groomed for. I was called upon to help medically revive David Icke who had passed out on my flight back to the US. The only difference was as we were loosing him using conventional methods, an energy came crashing through my physical neurologic circuitry that not only revived his physical body, but allowed his spirit to re-enter in safety.

David and I had a two hour trans-Atlantic telephone conversation where by describing the mechanism by which this energetic phenomenon had taken place essentially answered all of my mysterious life’s questions, including the most profound of all, “For what purpose was I born?”

Who or what is the inspiration behind this book?

By discovering who I am, an adult Indigo, compels me to connect with the thousands of others who are asking the same questions, experiencing the same phenomenon occurring in their lives and have no context by which to understand. This discovery for me has allowed for a validation the likes I have never experienced. I want to share that validation with others and call them to come out of their hiding, rejoice in who they are, use their magical powers and step into the light with me. Just like President Obama says, (he himself an adult Indigo according to Dr. Richard Boylan who I reference toward the end of the book), “We need all hands on deck right now.”

It is time, we have chosen to be here, we each have taken on monumental tasks and this is the moment to celebrate and compare our “differences.” Together, we are not “out of the box,” but creating a new space free of boundaries and boarders. It is big work, and we need to support each other through the most challenging times yet a head.

What is the most important thing in your life right now?

The most important thing in my life now is to disengage from physical possessions and to downsize. We are not our “stuff.” In the Western world we have been conditioned to believe in unabashed consumerism. It has not led us to happiness now has it? It only requires that we work hard to obtain it, and harder to maintain it. The most precious commodity in my life right now is “free time” to enjoy the people and places that bring me heart-felt joy.

What do you feel has been your greatest achievement as an author?

To walk into a room with a patient who has read the book and they would rather talk about their experience with the story versus their pain complaints. I have discovered since writing the book, that about ½ of my patients are what I am calling “derailed Indigo’s.” Because of our resonate bio-electromagnetic-photic field attraction toward each other a bond is created that is unique between doctor and patient. It feels very powerfully familial. Inherent trust is exchanged and the patients feel perhaps for the first time in their sometimes arduous journey through the medical system heard and validated.

When they read the book, they understand why they feel the way they do and want to share their stories of strife, hard-ship, always feeling different and overcoming their own personal demons. Almost every one starts with, “I just could not put it down.”

For me personally, my biggest accomplishment was to learn how to read due to being dyslexic, then to write, then to have this opportunity to share the experience through the lens of the Indigo experience. I am convinced that I have had this amazing life so far solely to share it and inspire others.

What do you feel sets this book apart from others in the same genre?

This is the first book written by an Indigo adult who is bold enough to admit it. Let’s face it – up until very recently no one else has been qualified to diagnose you but yourself. Being a licensed, board certified physician allows me the unique opportunity me to consider all the signs and symptoms along with the differential diagnosis and come up with a determination of cause and effect.

This unique story is told from the insider’s perspective of an awakened adult Indigo. All the others in this genre are non-Indigo adults describing the traits and characteristics of the Indigo kids or the problems the adult Indigo’s are facing since many have been “derailed” from their missions and are suffering psychologically.
